Cookery Academy for SEN students

We hold a Cookery Academy for 13-16 year old SEN students at Nescot in Ewell, near Epsom. Our academies are fun and instructive Saturday courses that last four weeks. They start at 10am and finish at 1pm on consecutive Saturdays. 

This engaging, hands-on course offers students a chance to cook and bake a range of dishes to help build their skills in the kitchen.

Students will have the opportunity to explore a mixture of culinary skills from preparing hot and cold snacks and trying their hand at both sweet and savoury dishes. 

Students will gain practical experience using essential kitchen equipment, including the stove and oven, while building confidence and developing valuable cooking skills. Week one will start with simple snacks and by week 4 students will have progressed to baking in the oven.

The course is suitable for both beginners and for those who have no prior experience in the kitchen. So all ability levels are welcome.

The course is taught in our fully equipped teaching kitchen and supported by experienced staff.

Our kitchens are nut free.

Week 1:  Everyday cooking (omelettes and paninis)

Week 2: Sweet baking

Week 3: Savoury baking

Week 4: Cooking dinner

The cost for all four weeks is £95.00.

Students are expected to arrive 15 minutes before the start time and to be picked up promptly at the end time. Students will need to provide proof of age on arrival.

Refunds Policy

Please note that we are not able to issue refunds once a place on a Saturday Academy is booked. We are happy, however, to allow a student name change on the booking should a friend/relative wish to take the place instead. The booking name change must be made at least 3 working days ahead of the first class taking place.
