Summer School in Animal Management for 13-16 year olds

Description

The Animal Management Summer School runs from Tuesday 12th August – Thursday 14th August from 9.30am – 12.30pm.

This short animal care course will provide an introduction to basic animal handling and husbandry care with a range of animals. Participants will have the chance to meet ferrets, guinea pigs, snakes, goats and many more! This experience will take place across three days on our animal care unit which will involve practical involvement in the caring for our animals. The course will be run by our experienced lecturing and technician team who will provide informative talks on key topics such as behaviour, feeding and preventative care.

There is a short mid morning break, please bring a snack and a drink with you.

Things to remember, pack sunscreen, hats and/or raincoats subject to the weather conditions. Please wear sensible shoes.

Please email lbuckland@nescot.ac.uk before booking if you have any allergies that could affect you whilst on the course e.g. allergies to animal fur, hay and straw or nut-containing animal feeds.

The cost for all three days is £75.00.

Students are expected to arrive 15 minutes before the start time and to be picked up promptly at the end time. Students will need to provide proof of age on arrival.
