Media Make-Up Academy
We hold a Saturday Academy in Media Make-Up for 13-16 year olds at Nescot in Ewell, near Epsom. Our academies are fun and instructive Saturday courses that last four weeks. They start at 10am and finish at 1pm on consecutive Saturdays.
This Academy is suitable for both those that have done a Media Make-Up Academy before, so they can further practice and develop their skills, or those that are complete beginners.
Our media make-up academy shows you how to create casualty makeup effects, so it’s not for the faint hearted! Learn, apply and create realistic make-up effects like those seen on TV shows such as Casualty and Holby City.
The film, television and theatre industry is a huge employer in the UK and worldwide. Nescot has full-time courses that help our students progress into the specialist jobs that exist in this field. Hence we have experienced staff and great facilities that we’ll be utilising for our Saturday Academy course for younger people.
Our staff will teach you new skills in special effects and stage make-up. You’ll learn how to create bruises, blood, cuts, scratches, scars, knife wounds and finger amputation.
Each week you will learn a new technique then you’ll bring it all together in the final week to create your own casualty victim.
The cost for all four weeks is £95.00.
Students are expected to arrive 15 minutes before the start time and to be picked up promptly at the end time. Students will need to provide proof of age on arrival.
Please contact [email protected] before booking if you have any allergies to make-up, latex or other materials.
If you have an EHCP or any other special requirements please contact Lynn Simmons [email protected] before booking.
Please note that we are not able to issue refunds once a place on a Saturday Academy is booked. We are happy, however, to allow a student name change on the booking should a friend/relative wish to take the place instead. The booking name change must be made at least 3 working days ahead of the first class taking place.
